Dried Figs remind me of one of my childhood favourite biscuits – Fig Rolls! Naturally sweet with the delicately crunchy seeds and a chewy, gooey, almost caramel type texture, they are such a treat!  High in fibre and some minerals such as calcium, 3 or 4 chopped up and added to your breakfast bowl will go a long way in terms of nutritional value and flavour.  They are said to be a prebiotic due to high soluble fibre content – so rest assured that you are feeding that little army of gut bacteria who are soldiering away each day in your digestive tract!
